Evacuate promptly. Limit exposure to 9% concentration for a maximum of 5 minutes. Avoid skin contact with discharge to prevent frostbite. Thorough ventilation is required if pungent decomposition odors are present.
Evacuate the protected space on alarm activation.
Do not re-enter before ventilation is confirmed complete.
Wear appropriate PPE when handling discharged components.
HFC-227ea is NOT applicable to reactive metals (lithium, magnesium, titanium and similar), metal hydrides, and chemicals capable of rapid oxidation without air such as gunpowder and cellulose nitrate.
Reactive metals: lithium, magnesium, titanium, zirconium.
Metal hydrides of any form.
Self-oxidising chemicals: gunpowder, cellulose nitrate.
Ensure complete ventilation post-extinguishment. Special care must be taken for chemicals undergoing autothermal decomposition, such as organic peroxides and hydrazine.
Confirm ventilation with a supervisor before re-entry.
Monitor for decomposition odors during clearance.
Log the incident and system state before reset.
